Since our webshop start back in 2010, we have had numerous customers from the United Kingdom and cross-border e-commerce was easy. Nowadays – though things may work a bit differently due to HMRC’s ruling – we are still as happy to be of service as before.
The HM Revenue and Customs rules for us, being an overseas seller from the EU, imply that we have to account for 20% VAT for orders up to £ 135. This is the consignment's net worth value, not including VAT and postage. We are registered for VAT in the UK and submit returns /pay VAT to HMRC for these small orders. So the VAT amount you pay to us will be transferred by us to HMRC.
Our preferred courier service provider DPD allows us to electronically prepare an online import declaration and offers an efficient service so things should go smoothly. Postage is € 7,95 and typical transit will be between 4-5 working days.
A dispatch confirmation e-mail with tracking information will be sent after a parcel has been handed over to DPD. We will provide them with your e-mail as well so they will keep you posted about the shipment in transit and inform you about the date & time slot the parcel will be delivered.
Important: please make sure to fill out your mobile telephone number at the check-out. Without your number, we won’t be able to prepare the import declaration.
Unfortunately, things are a bit more complicated, or inconvenient if you like, for orders over £ 135 (VAT & postage not included). HMRC have determined you have to pay for VAT in the UK and you will be invoiced for VAT by the courier service provider before delivery. https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty
Our webshop isn’t set up to make this distinction at the check-out. Therefore we also charge 20% VAT for these orders over £ 135 and we will refund the VAT amount afterwards within 1 working day.
A dispatch confirmation e-mail with tracking information will be sent after a parcel has been handed over to our preferred courier service DPD. When the shipment is cleared by UK Customs, DPD will send you an e-mail with an invoice for the 20% UK VAT.
Shipments will only be delivered after VAT is paid and if you respond swiftly things should go smoothly. Typical transit will still only be between 4-5 working days after dispatch.
NOTE: Not covered are Customs Duties/ Import Tariff etc.
Important: please make sure to fill out your mobile telephone number at the check-out. Without your number, we won’t be able to prepare the import declaration.
After dispatch, a shipment can’t be intercepted anymore, so we can’t accept any withdrawal request once a shipment is in transit.
We will accept a withdrawal i.e. a return or a request to have an article exchanged when filed within 14 days, starting the day after delivery. We advise shipping with a track-and-trace service, to have proof of posting. If you return it within the 14-day window, we’ll process your request after the parcel has been received and we won’t hold it against you when a shipment comes in later than expected.
If you withdraw and return your order - and have paid VAT to HMRC for an order over £ 135 you can ask for a refund with them https://www.gov.uk/guidance/how-to-apply-for-a-repayment-of-import-duty-and-vat-if-youve-overpaid-c285
